Community Involvement

The Philadelphia Group hosts Steve Forbes Luncheon
Kevin Hassan and the members of The Philadelphia Group were honored to sponsor the event, A Luncheon with Steve Forbes, at The Union League Club of Philadelphia on October 11th, 2007.

Steve Forbes is President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes magazine, the nation’s leading business magazine with a circulation of over 900,000.

The Crossroads Classic

The Philadelphia Group has been a co-sponsor of The Crossroads Classic, a charity golf event benefiting the financial aid program of The Crossroads School.

The Crossroads School is a non-profit, co-educational leader in the field of educating children with learning differences. Certified teachers specialize in approaching students by accessing visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning pathways. The goal is to return each student to a conventional classroom with an understanding of the way he or she learns and the skills and strategies needed to be a successful, independent learner. Approximately 12 percent of Crossroads students benefit from the financial aid program, and would not otherwise be able to afford this individualized education.

In 2007, The Philadelphia Group raised $63,500 in conjunction with The Crossroads Classic, making it the largest contributor to The Crossroads School.

Students Run Philly Style

Students Run Philly Style is the only program in Philadelphia that offers long distance running to help young people succeed in life. We do this by connecting students with adult mentors who help them imagine and accomplish goals beyond their dreams, including the completion of amarathon. Since 2005, Students Run Philly Style has served over 2000 Philadelphia students. They log hundredsof miles over the course of their life changing journeys. But it takes more than running to helpstudents Go Farther! Students Run Philly Style takes an all encompassing approach to help students take charge of their lives and their futures. www.studentsrunphilly.org

The Philadelphia Group has proudly supported Students Run Philly Style since February 2009. It is a great program to help students create a vision and accomplish goals. We feel it is a perfect fit for our organization becasue we are in a goal oriented business and are eager to help the young members of the Philadelphia community work to achieve their goals. Members of The Philadelphia Group have participated in the Generation Run, Broad Street Run, the Philadelphia Marathon, organized a pasta party for the students and worked to raise money to support the organization. We believe it is important to make an impact in the community through community service and our business.
